Harry's 70% Dark Hot Chocolate is the boldest drinking chocolate in our range, made for anyone who wants their hot chocolate rich and properly chocolatey rather than sickly sweet. This tin contains sustainably sourced dark chocolate, made from quality cocoa beans and cocoa mass, cocoa butter and natural vanilla flavouring, plus cocoa powder, all blended with Fairtrade sugar to a guaranteed minimum of 70% cocoa solids.
Each batch is hand produced in small quantities at our barn in the Cheshire countryside, then ground to a fine powder by Harry himself so it dissolves smoothly rather than leaving grit at the bottom of your favourite mug. It's vegan and vegetarian, and comes in a fully recyclable, plastic-free tin.
How to make the perfect cup

Heat 250ml of milk to 70°C. It's fine if it comes from a cow or a plant, dairy, oat, coconut and soya all work.

Add 2 to 3 heaped teaspoons of Harry's 70% Dark Hot Chocolate to your mug.

Pour over the hot milk and stir until the chocolate melts and everything is smooth.
If you want to make more of an occasion of it, froth the warm milk with a milk frother before pouring, and finish with whipped cream, marshmallows or a pinch of cinnamon.

What does 70% mean on hot chocolate?
It's the guaranteed minimum percentage of cocoa solids in the blend, printed on every tin. Harry's 70% has less sugar than our sweeter blends, for a deeper, more intense flavour with a bittersweet edge.
What's the difference between Harry's 44%, 50%, 60% and 70% hot chocolate?
The percentage shows how much cocoa is in the blend. Our 44% is the sweetest and creamiest, a good starting point if you're new to Harry's. 50% and 60% sit in between, and 70% is the boldest and least sweet, made for those who want a proper hit of dark chocolate.
Is Harry's 70% Dark Hot Chocolate vegan?
Yes. This blend is vegan and vegetarian, made from dark chocolate and cocoa powder with no dairy ingredients.
Is 70% dark hot chocolate good for you?
This blend contains 29g of sugar per 100g, less than our sweeter blends, and dark chocolate contains cocoa flavonoids that have been linked to heart health in some studies. As with any treat, it's one to enjoy in moderation as part of a balanced diet.
How do I make Harry's 70% Dark Hot Chocolate?

Storage: cupboard. Shelf Life: approx. 12 months. To make the perfect cup: make up a mug of hot milk (8oz/ 225g) either in a pan, microwave or Cocoatiser. Add 2-3 teaspoons (20-25g) of hot chocolate powder and stir until well mixed. Servings (20-25g): 300g tin – 12 -15 servings, 1kg bag –40-50 servings, 1.6kg bag – 64-80 servings.

The 70% Hot Chocolate is the best I’ve tasted. It is thick, creamy and smooth. It is not too sweet. Looking forward to trying the Ginger and 60% Hot Chocolate. It may be pricey but it is worth every penny.

Harrys make delicious hot chocolate and are very quick to rectify any mistakes in an order.
All my life I’ve been a Cadbury’s gal. No other chocolate came close (in my opinion) but I’ve got to be honest I’m bowled over with Harry’s hot chocolate. I’ve got the regular, the 50% and now the dark one which is 70%. I even bought their marshmallows for an extra treat. If you’ve not tried you absolutely must give it a go. For me it’s always worth paying that little bit more for a product if it’s worth it and this is. I even contacted Harry and Chloe by email and had a response the following day. The item arrived the day after so it’s a very quick turnaround. I’m just sad it’s been 30 degrees here lately so I’ve been wanting cold drinks. I happen to know some coffee shops use this chocolate up in Chester when I visit family so if it’s good enough for them then it’s good enough for me. Thanks Harry and Chloe. I love this brand. Found this hot chocolate years ago and don’t believe there is anything better out there. Would highly recommend if you are a hot chocolate connoisseur!
Everything was delicious as always. The cookies were a little too sweet for me but nevertheless much nicer than standard makes. Orange hot chocolate has a nice natural tang, mint hot chocolate is gorgeous and refreshing, both are also lovely with a bit of dark hot chocolate added. My favourite hot chocolate is the gingerbread, also nice with some dark chocolate added. Do hope the gingerbread hot chocolate returns later in the year - please!!! So lovely to purchase such good quality items from a small family firm in the uk.
